More and more
We thought this was a big flock but it turned out to be the smallest flock of birds that we saw during our entire three days.
We have never seen so many birds!
We were both releaved to know that there are still places in the south where there are literally 10's of thousands of birds! The first large flock that we encountered was a big group of Greater White-fronted Goose. Some of the locals were referring to them as speckle-bellies. I assume that is a hunting term. Mixed in with them were a few Snow Goose.
Yellow Rails and Rice Festival
Carrie and I just got back from the Yellow Rails and Rice Festival in Jennings Louisiana. It was awesome! It was also bound to be the best deal in the history of bird festivals!
